Forest roads are closed so you have to take ripton-lincoln road north to south lincoln road to get into th . Lots of newer snow from last week's micro storms and the bigger one friday night. Up Cooley Glen to the shelter, out and back to Grant and then over to Wilson. Luckily some one had been though the previous weekend or week. Faint tracks over the LT which in between Cleveland and Roosevelt in several places were gone along with the white marks. Found it by trending in the right direction and going back and forth across the slope.
6 inches give or take on the ridge. Snowshoes would have been a good choice which I did not make. Light wind was cool especially with out any sun in some places. Picked up Dan Mckee's track after Roosevelt and decided that I would just head down once I hit Emily Proctor. Serenaded by the sound of automatic weapons on the way down. Good day nice loop and I will return at some point. |
