Jerusalem Trail was well packed down low, softer higher up. It's a large sugarbush you pass through- about .9 miles long and who knows how wide. At one point you crawl on your hands and knees under 3 or 4 large diameter sap lines, remember you are on private property and smile.
The Long Trail has seen snowshoe and ski traffic so it was reasonably easy to follow to a point. The last 1/2 mile descended into chaos with ski tracks everywhere so I headed uphill and to the east and came out on a ski trail which I took to the top. Passed a cozy slope side snowcave condo complete with clothes line and snow block door cut into a large drift.
Don't even think about attempting without snowshoes, especially the Long Trail. |
