Comments
Comments: First hiker on the trail today. I stayed in snowshoes the entire hike but it could be done in bare boots or microspikes as well. Other hikers were about half and half snowshoes or not today. The trail also appears to get some people skiing too. Underneath a little bit of new snow was a nice packed trail today. The route is easy to follow and there are no real difficult sections. The path does go around a few small trees leaning across the trail, but nothing out of the way. Up high the tree branches were heavy with ice and snow so you will need to duck under or lean around a lot of them. Steps on the tower are icy but you can make it up. The cabin is open but the windows are covered in snow and ice so you won't see anything unless you stop below it. It was cold and windy on the tower today, but good at the base.
