Very little water for dogs. There's a good leap over a deep crevasse on the Maple Ridge Trail that could be tough to get around for dogs. |

Minimal, though some black flies on Maple Ridge in the morning. |

Trails were mostly dry and in good shape. Ascent up Maple Ridge was very nice, scenic, and quiet. Followed old blue blazed route up Nose (no no trespassing signs anymore on that side, though an old tower radiation waring sign was still standing on the north side), then down to near auto road parking lot, then hopped back on Long Trail. From there to the summit was mobbed with hikers, people walking up from the top of the auto road, and people using the gondola.
Extremely scenic loop hike - my favorite 3-season route up Mansfield so far. |
