| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at end of Tillotson Road - parking area was nearly empty at 1100 on a sunny Saturday. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
One rather challenging crossing on Foresters a few hundred meters from the junction with the Frank Post Trail that involves some rock hopping over fast water. Poles are highly recommended there for balance. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Significant erosion along the LT from heavy rains all summer plus normal (at least) traffic. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Several dogs on the summit, but all came up via the LT from the south. Still, my route poses no hazards to dogs that I know of. |
| Bugs: |
None worth mentioning. |

| Comments: |
Very tough going along the LT due to abundant mud and standing water in the trail nearly everywhere. Frank Post was dry except near the LT, and Foresters was muddy but not as bad as the LT. The views from the fire tower made the slog worthwhile, but make no mistake: this hike is not for novices. A shout out to the US Forestry Service guy who was doing the same hike today in the opposite direction. |
