Comments
Comments: From the gate, we walked Madison Brook Road. The road is wide open and Madison Brook has several beautiful cascades observable from the road. We walked past The Roost and then began looking for a well defined skidder road/path leading into the base of the Seneca Cirque. Original plan was to climb both east and west peaks. From the base of the cirque we followed logging roads in a easterly direction leading the the east summit. At about 2,500 ft. the woods became scrappy with lots of blowdowns. We picked our way to the summit, found the jar, signed in and found a few nice views to the east. We then decided to scrap the plan to whack over to West Peak due to time constraints. We returned to the skidder road taking a southerly course along the ridge. This was a much better route with open woods. We ran into some ledge descending from E. Peak, but found openings to safely drop to the wooded floor of the forest.
