An unexpected sunny morning hike of Jay peak...expansive views from the summit in all directions...
Big Jay...wow. The amount of mud is impressive. I expected a mud fiasco based on previous reports, but I have never been wetter (evergreen water retention) and muddier (constant moss mud pits) than any mountain in the Whites. I felt a sense of accomplishment once done with this one. The artichoke jar and contents have held up. I have a fondness for seemingly innocuous mountain peaks that kick your rear end...thank you Big Jay! |
