Comments
Comments: A great day to be out, despite the -19 temps at the start. Saw three intrepid souls headed over to Mount Ethan Allen. Forest City had minimal cover and had seen what looked like only one other hiker that week. I followed his/her footsteps to the summit. Snowshoes might have been nice once I hit the Long Trail as snow depth increased. I remained in Hillsounds which worked, but lots of trudging through drifts once on the ridge. Winds on the summit approached 50 mph. I didn’t do the windchill calculations but I wasn’t staying long up there at any rate.

Burrows Trail packed solid and saw three groups on the way up. Snow on Monday will of course change all of this.
