 | Comments: |
Beautiful day for a hike up Spruce. Trail conditions were better than I had anticipated. Bare boots only. Encountered occasional muddy/wet areas on trail but all were easily navigable via closely space rocks or avoided entirely via herd path detours on either side. Still a few patches of soft, decaying ice beginning just beyond the wooden stairs. These patches were no more than 8-10 feet in length and easily avoidable. With projected temps for the next week, these patches should all but disappear. The 360-degree view from the fire tower at the summit was spectacular. |
