Date of Hike: Sunday, May 29, 2022

Parking/Access Road Notes: There is a LOT of parking available at the lowest ski lodge (Sherburne Lodge) parking area where the Red Trail starts.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing significant
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One large walk-around on the lower portion of the Red Trail and one tricky climb-over on the Profile Trail. Otherwise, just a few minor step over blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw three very happy but very hot and thirsty looking dogs. Between the two lean-to's there is a decent small stream on both the Red Trail and West Peak Trail. Didn't see much else for a dog to drink.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies are out but not bad if one kept moving. None were up in the Fire Tower.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Ascending the West Peak and returning on the Red Trail (counterclockwise loop) and ascending the Profile Trail and going down the Summit Trail (counterclockwise loop) is probably the better option for most-going up the steeper, more technical trail.
