Limited in the morning, stopped at the shelter site near the summit and they were pretty bad there. Privy was not in great shape so that may have been why |

Overall this is a longer but mild way to approach Killington. Roughly 6.5 miles to the top but relatively gentle incline, I think I estimated roughly 430ft of elevation gain for every mile. It’s not the preferred trail to peakbag this mountain but worthy of it. I was meeting a thru hiker and glad I got to take this section of trail. Really beautiful. Trail was dry, couple of seeps along the way but it’s the dry season so not a ton of water on the trail or mud. The hardest part is that last .2 to the summit. Great morning views. The lodge was closed for a wedding but the little food truck was running food starting at 10am. |
