|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Sawyer Mountain (Fairlee), VT|
|Date of Hike:
||Thursday, September 8, 2022|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Roadside on Lake Morey Rd. in Fairlee. The "trailhead" is somewhat discreet with only a small parking sign. |
||Dry Trail |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||This trail appears to see little use and light maintenance. White blazes are faded. Several minor blowdowns along its length and the corridor is unclear in a few spots. |
|Lost and Found:
||Did this one with a friend for golden hour. Looks like this was an unofficial route at one point that has been taken over by the town. Mostly gentle grades except for some steeper pitches climbing up to the open shoulder of Sawyer (no trail to the high point). Two pedestrian tunnels lead under I-91.|
Fantastic views of the western Whites and north and south over the Connecticut River from the cleared, grassy shoulder, which also has a picnic table. This would be an amazing spot for sunrise.
