Comments
Comments: Temps in the 20s and the ground has pretty much refrozen after the midweek rains. The snowpack has all melted and just some patches up high. Micro spikes are recommended for going up the Fire Tower trail from the cabin foundation/vista to the Fire Tower. However, the ice here can be avoided or negotiated with care and the primary winter bypass is free of snow and ice. The ice in this segment is wet and soft and is freezing in a stair like manner; so, with spikes you can just walk up the trail without worry. The ridge is almost completely free of any snow and ice on the trail.
