Excellent day out in so-so weather conditions. Snow showers and socked in most of the hike. Wind was blowing strong up top. Laura Cowles was unbroken when we got to it so up we went to put some work in. Met up with the Long Trail and some strong cold winds and made the dash for the summit. Descended via Sunset Ridge where we met the large group that started when we did. They all has snowshoes and left a firm foot bed. Clouds cleared slightly as we made our way down the open ridge. Many skiers out on our way back down the road walk section. |
