Comments
Comments: 7 of us headed up to Dorset. It started off with a dusting of snow. The 2 river crossings were tough. They seemed swollen, but with the rocks being icy, we used microspikes to assist. The second river crossing, we used a log as a balance beam to cross. On the ascent, there was a heavy dusting of snow that hid the numerous areas of wet leaves. Further up, there was areas of ice. There was snow on top of ice along the summit crest of Dorset, but less than 6 inches of snow. We used microspikes for most of the hike and our snowshoes got a free ride.
