What a hike! We broke the trail all the way with at least 3 feet of fresh snow. Snowshoes were the only option, obviously. Thankfully we were 3 to open the trail. We saw no one else. Trail was well marked with blue blazes, but it was sometimes hard to follow because of the amount of snow, especially near the summit. We were supposed to grab Middle Mountain too, but Gore was enough this time. The cabin on top was almost buried in the snow! Going down was so much fun since we just had to follow the trail we opened.
Cloudy day, but we had nice moments of sun! We also saw a cute white rabbit next to the trail and plenty of moose tracks! |
