 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lincoln Gap Rd. is technically closed although half the gate is open and some people are driving it. I arrived planning to do the 1.4 mile road walk to the TH, but was emboldened when I saw an Audi head up. Use careful judgement, today it was icy under 1/2" fresh snow and studded tires/AWD barely made the grade. There was an SUV w/all season tires parked in the road where they bailed, fortunately it could be bypassed. |

 | Comments: |
A quick & thick snow squall dropped 1/2" yesterday afternoon, and with the ice under it here and there I was glad to have poles. 'spikes stayed in the pack. Upper scrambles are mostly rock, sunny exposure. Quite a few folks out on this spectacular day, most came up the Battell trail. Today's hike completed all 12 months of the year on Mt. Abe for me, 3rd one of the "High Five". |
