Only car to start; 5 or 6 upon leaving. Room for 15-20 cars. Porta potty in lot. Road leading in from Waterbury side has some pot holes close to lot and Stowe side was smooth but narrow in spots. Only met 1 truck on Stowe side but someone may have to back up if meeting in the wrong spot. |

Huge 4 section blowdown roughly 10 minutes in. All 4 requiring chain saw. |

Impressed by the 3 legged dog who went up from the Middlesex side. Plentiful water. |

Obnoxious; got bit a few times at summit even with spray on. Black flies and mosquitoes. |

This may be one of those hikes which turns out more difficult than the short mileage suggests. Fairly quiet day. Views hazy (maybe NS wild fire). Bugs eventually won out at he summit. Nice getting back here. |
