There were gnats on and near the peaks. They tended to swarm, but not very aggressive (mostly). There was almost zero wind. |

Bugs didn't matter much. Beautiful hike on a beautiful day. Have hiked a fair amount of Long Trail over a fair amount of years. Pretty sure I have never seen any section of it this dry before, especially at the tail end of "mud season." I hope the rain comes sooner than later, but, until it does, enjoy the anomaly. |
