Hiking Trail Conditions Report Peaks Mt. Pisgah, VT Trails: South Trail Date of Hike: Monday, June 5, 2023 Parking/Access Road Notes: Plent of parking at the trailhead off route 5A. It appeared there was more parking across the road. There was another lot about 0.3 miles north on route 5a. The drive on route 5A by Lake Willoughby is scenic with some pullover spots.  Surface Conditions: Dry Trail  Recommended Equipment:   Water Crossing Notes: None except the bridged wetland areas near the beginning of the trail.  Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in great shape. Switchbacks and rock stairs have prevented erosion on the trail.  Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs. Saw Jackson again.  Bugs: A few as evening neared. Not a big deal.  Lost and Found:     Comments: I decided to hike Mt Pisgah for the first time since I was in the general area. The views of Lake Willoughby are spectacular with a long lake nestled between two mountain masses. There are also views to Mt Mansfield and Camels Hump in the distance. The trail is well constructed with good footing and easy to moderate grades. There are some ledges up higher. I think the summit is at the high point near a trail sign. There is cedar near the bridge by the wetlands.
