Paddock Hill, Skunk Hollow (AKA Paddock Hill, North Peak)
After parking the truck, Parker (my dog) and I walked a well-maintained woods road. The area is in conservation and hikers are welcome. We hiked a short distance to a gated road. We walked around the gate and followed this road, which is part of the Hurricane Trail. After a 1/4 mile, we headed into the woods. The woods were fairly open with some wet areas, crossing old skidder roads. We found the summit jar, signed the log with a few familiar names, and headed back down to the gate. We then began the whack to Paddock Hill North Peak, ducking under many sap lines. We found the jar, signed in, and hiked back to the gated road and then our truck. Total hike time is about 4 hours. We were going to climb Black Hill, but the rain picked up. We'll grab it another time. |
