Comments
Comments: At the pull-off on Quarry Rd. I headed into the woods through thickets of raspberries. The north side of the mountain is laced with old skidder and ATV roads. I followed some of these but needed to hike through thick woods and wet areas. I even followed a trail with red flagging for some distance but eventually lost it. I found the summit easily after climbing up the ledges. After signing the new register, I returned to Quarry Rd. following the ridgeline in a northeasterly direction. I regretted my decision as it was steep and wet with several rock ledges I had to scramble down. Even Parker hesitated when he looked below. Once down to more friendly terrain I found a well-maintained ATV road that took be to a farm at the end of Quarry Rd. From here I walked back to my truck on a pleasant gravel road. This was #65 on the NEK Hundred Highest List.
