As a trail Maintainer for the GMC/NEK I needed to hike the section of the Bluff Ridge Trail from Pine Brook Rd. to the Unknown Pond Trail. This was an out-and-back hike of about 10 miles. The trail runs along the ridge line of Bluff Ridge, through open woods and glades. When I reached the height of land I bushwhacked to the summit of North Bluff Mountain (2.774'). I've hiked this trail many times and never met a soul, complete solitude. If you are looking for a stroll through a majestic woodland, this trail is for you. Be sure to follow the blazes as one can easily get off course and lost. No cell service in this section of the NEK. |
