Comments
Comments: Good packed trail for microspikes, light powder over ice, to Mt. Hunger (3,539')with some significant ice bulges. Somewhat drifted going over to White Rock Mtn. (3,194') but didn't need snowshoes (the first time I remember that happening on a winter White Rock hike). Trail over there is easy to follow right now with the below-average snow depth. Broke through some ice into water, heads up! Upper scrambles on both peaks are icy and attention-getting.

Excellent east & west views under overcast, with the Presi's spot-lit in stark detail, every peak including Eisenhower standing out distinctly in a white/gold light. Superb. Summit temps: Hunger minus 1F @ 12:30 pm, White Rock 2 degrees warmer @ 1:15, Winds 5-10mph.
