A FINE way to end my 67 Winters! Hike #2 today. Aside from maybe the first quarter mile, the trail has a narrow but rock solid dragstrip. I put spikes on maybe about the said 1/4 mile mark and kept them on until I returned back to the car. No real issues along the trail. It was in really good shape I think my spikes where sparking and melting with how fast I was able to move. I forgot to mention in my Ellen one, and will be true too here; it looks like the sun hasn't come out since the ice storms of early last week. There is a LOT of snow on the trees from top to bottom that are waiting to pee on someone. If the sun ever does come back, or it warms up, there could be some serious snow grenades being lobbed. Made scintillating time out and back. If you heard a loud boom, it wasn't the Green Mountain Boys in their f-16's, it was me. Ran into the Gorilla, what an odd place to run into eachother "THIS F&@_$@#(@ GUY!" hah. Absolute monochromatic winter wonderland above 3500 feet. More soft rime ice was had. The worst winter ever continues as it was freezing ice pellets at the summit due to an inversion, and lovely powdered sugar snow for my way out. Onto the next 33... |
