| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Though County Road is known to be "not maintained" west of the Klondike Road junction, the "not maintained" sign came a bit farther east of that junction. Due to the snowmobile packdown, we did drive County Road and probably (as we'd seen once we did the walk) could even have driven to the in-season (summer/fall) small lot at the County Road/LT junction. But being nervous about it, we did a turn around well before going any further and instead did about a 2 mile road walk on County Road- parked in a little plowed 2-vehicle spot on the north side of County Road just west of Maltese Road. |

| Comments: |
We donned Hillsounds (microspikes) for the COUNTY ROAD walk- very easy and quite pleasant as it was firmly packed down on the sides from vehicle treads (and the middle of the road was a little softer albeit still packed from snowmobile tread). Saw no other souls out on the SPECTACULAR day! OUR MISSION was to go out/back to LT-Southern Terminus. However, we broke trail all day and fell short by an estimated 0.6-0.8 mile with our pre-planned turnaround time. The only "post holes" are from the deer who didn't wear snowshoes haha ;-) We cannot wait to return! Just a beautiful, peaceful Winter Wonderland. |
