The perimenopausal hiker was on full display with more costume changes than a drag show, this weekend. Hot, cold, rain, snow, hat on hat off, jacket, no jacket, vest on, vest off, mittens, gloves, and oh my, a break for him a sandwich!
A true mixed bag of conditions from the spring stuff - bare ground - mud - standing water along many feet of trail in multiple locations - cement like snow. Getting up to the chute was a bit firmer. Chute was in fine shape. Be prepared for some ice, though on the chute, but it grips well.
On a side note, two guys were performing maintenance on the tower in conditions that were not conducive to much other than tagging the summit, taking a picture, and walking back to the car. |
