Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Keep an eye out for folks walking along Wheelerville Road as you make your way to and from the trailhead.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Minor streams along the way are easily rock-hopped.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One sizable blowdown on the scramble between Cooper Lodge and the summit. Worn herd-paths around it are becoming very apparent.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Trailhead is posted with signs warning of high porcupine population on the Coolidge Range. Keep dogs leashed if not under voice control.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies were buzzin' pretty good.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a Houston Texans baseball cap on the scramble between Cooper Lodge and the summit; picked it up and brought it to Cooper Lodge and left it on the table within. Back at the parking lot, I found a note someone left on my car asking anyone who found a trekking pole to call (413)-446-7970.

Comments
Comments: Another trek up-and-down Killington via the Bucklin Trail. Not much to note beyond some of the items already mentioned above. The Bucklin Trail continues to be very easy to follow, well-signed, well-blazed. The Cooper Lodge site looked okay, no trash. Didn't make my way down to the ski trails near the summit due to a lack of time, but there wouldn't have been much reason to anyway with the Killington Peak Lodge yet to open. Should be open soon, though.
