Comments
Comments: Broke out 4"-6" fluffy from last night. Snowshoes all day. Trail is easy to follow to Taft Lodge, despite mingling with snowboard tracks by this afternoon.

Sign for Profanity turnoff is still slightly exposed. Profanity trail becomes more difficult to find as you rise, just head for the gully that runs under the icicle-draped cliff line. Snow is deeply drifted in the gully and of variable consistency and layer makeup. I stayed left to minimize slide potential. MSR snowshoes w/ televators up were good. Needed goggles from here up, lots of airborne snow on moderate winds. Visibility was limited but acceptable, saw the valley floor for a minute before it closed in again. At the ridge crest, some very deep drifts alternating with icy rocks. Summit temp 6F, winds about 25mph.

Went back down Profanity and north across the "traverse", a rough ski/snowshoe track that runs under the Chin to Eagle Pass and the Adam's Apple (4,060') from here. Two minor spruce trap encounters later I found the still exposed sign at the Hell Brook/LT/Adam's Apple jct. and clambered up there on mostly icy rocks, once above the very drifted pass. More wind on the Apple than the Chin. Found new snowshoe tracks down the LT to the cabin and out, so that much is packed well.

No sign of a track to the Chin from Eagle Pass, but tracks drift in quickly up here. Saw no other hikers, but a few BC schussers from mid-mtn down. A fine day on the mountain.
