Led a hike up Killington with the Green Mountain Club on Saturday the 17th. There were eight of us, and I believe four of our group's members had not hiked Killington before so they were happy to have some company on the climb. The Bucklin Trail is easy enough to follow alone, though, even when unfamiliar with it. Signs are well-placed and the trail is pretty well-blazed. Unfortunately the summit was pretty clouded-over for most of the time we spent up there, though we did get some fleeting views of Pico and Blue Ridge Mountain. Lots of other hikers on the trail, too, and we encountered a few thru-hikers once we got to the LT/AT. Slow pace today - we started at the trailhead around 9:30 AM and got back around 3 PM. |
