Comments
Comments: Well took the normal route up to Mendon with the logging roads. Once at the bucket (where you can see the ski sled) we turned into the right here and followed the well defined herd path all the way to the peak. We signed in on the register and headed back down a little bit. We saw the view point and once we made it back to the bucket we went to the sled. We hung left of the sled (made a mistake and walked over downed trees and continued a short ways on that path) we did come back and went right, what looked like a drainage but it wasn’t. Then the next junction we hung left, we stayed on this contour until we passed a drainage. Once we hut the water/drainage we crossed and then went diagonal to the long trail (only about 400’ elevation). It was such nice open woods and a great line we had that we hit the long trail not even realizing it. We headed up and then whacked through the woods again to just below the ski patrol cabin. We walked the ski trail to the lift and followed the trail to the peak. We went down and saw the cabin which looks like either a thru hiker or a homeless person is living in there. Lots of new trash and also unopened food (mashed potatoes, pb powder, food packets) it was a sad sight and would have taken some of the empties or something but looked like someone just left for a minute. Hope if not that it gets brought down soon. I do have a photo of it all too. Made it back to the car with 10.8 miles tracked (with that hickup down the wrong logging path)
