Lovely hike on the long way home from a weekend hiking new peaks north of the border. To be expected, the trail is full of dry leaves, but it is very easy to follow. Abundant sunshine and no wind (unlike the last two days) made for a cozy stop at the ledges to view Great Averill Pond, Green Mtn, Black Mtn, and more. Wandered to the high point and then back to the vehicle.

Averill & Brosseau are often done together. I hiked Brosseau earlier this year after completing trail maintenance so I could catch a glimpse of the peregrine falcons, then drove right past Averill and did not realize I had done that until I was well in to New Hampshire. If you know me, you should not be surprised...
