| Comments: |
Maybe an inch of loose powder all the way up to the hut clearing. Trail is mostly packed down but still covered with some grippy powder. Snow depth increases in the last few hundred feet before the summit. Ice formed over rocks on trail, but easily passable in powder to left and right sides of the trail. Reached the summit with no poles or traction, but it would have been much easier with one or both.
Rhime ice on trees and exposed rock with ice coating at the summit. Again, was able to move around without traction, but be sure of each step. Summit temp around 10F at 1pm, but felt much colder with 15-20mph wind. Visibility around 100ft, sun visible through clouds. |
