 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked at the end of Tower Road in a small plowed lot. There is a newer vintage sign mentioning hiker parking immediately preceding this, but the arrow implies it goes up Grouse Road, which is labelled private. I am not sure where it actually goes |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
A few of the lower water crossings (small) did not really give me the warm fuzzies that they'd hold me |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Canister will need a new bottom (somethings been chewing on it). Canister also needs to be reset. Bring all associated hardware - not sure what can be salvaged. |

A COLD way to start the day. Despite waiting till almost 9 to get going, it was still -8 or so in the hollow. I followed a good skin track to the dilapidated cabin about a mile in. From here, I got the golden ticket of laying fresh tracks through light fluffy powder, never really amounting to much more than 2-3". Lots of rescue steps and micro breaks to try and keep from sweating, despite being totally whacked out on Stewart's coffee and wanting to run like a greyhound. This blue blazed/flagged trail follows a skid road to the ridge. Upon reaching the ridge, much to my bewilderment and delight, some lunatic had snow machined all the way to the summit of North Dorset (Dorset proper). This made far quicker work than anticipated. Still golden ticket but no complaints with a solid sled track under me. Unable to open canister, no big deal. Eight above on the summit, back to the car -2. |
