I put snowshoes on less than a quarter mile in. There was about 2 inches of freshness in a very deep trench on the blue trail, and I met some friendly split-boarders on the way up. They descended in the woods and we arrived at the bottom about the same time. 3 hours round trip. Cloudy today but I did get a few views at the top around 4:00, though I’d like to go back on a clear day, for sure. I almost had a disaster and dropped my glasses ducking under all the low branches near the top, luckily I found them not too far back. With more snow you’ll probably just have to push through and not duck anyway, but then again I’m 6’ 3”. |
