Comments
Comments: First winter summit of Mansfield but 18th total summit. Trail was very hard to find at times above treeline on Sunset due to wind blowing/snow drifts (luckily I knew where the trail “should” be). A few minor issues with spruce traps when we couldn’t find the trail when it veers to the right before connecting with LC. Decided to go down LC and again it was challenging to find trail above treeline at times but once below treeline we were flying down (a lot of the time on our butts due to steepness). I wore snowshoes the whole time to help with packing/breaking the trail in spots. Pretty challenging, would have likely turned around if it was any colder/windier/less visibility or I didn’t have the underlying trail knowledge.
