 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking for six cars in the unlimited half of Barnes Field, other half is limited to 90 minutes. I'm not sure if this is enforced midweek in winter. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
One snow bridge around 2,800' won't last forever |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
|
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a dog dragging its leash run to a leashed dog in the parking lot. No dog fight, tho. It's not enough to leash your dog while unloading your car, you've got to secure the leash too! |

 | Lost and Found: |
Silver plastic bumper shroud on snowbank! |

 | Comments: |
Took us three hours to snowshoe the ski / skin track of the LT to Taylor Lodge. The 2 to 3" of powder was great fun for skiers and boarders, but slippery for snowshoes.
Heading for the summit would have been too much for us yesterday. Taylor Lodge's door is buried, so if you want entry, you'd better bring a shovel. |
