We can't speak for the lower LT, only the part north of (above) Little Stratton. Firm on skins with skis, but it would be poor ski descent as the edges are soft. Above 3,300' the snow is littered with conifer needles, which made our descent to the ski area sticky, then slippery.
Below 3,000' the snow was quite soft and deep; some of us got stuck several times.
Only truly good parts of the day were the snowmobile trail and when we got the Stratton ski resort and took a groomed trail down. |
