Well I needed the nobo going to Killington peak and why not today. It was a beautiful windy day out there. Made decent time heading up to the peak, I had decided I would temp little killy on the way down. Since I didn’t want to do a full out and back I whacked to the ski trail when it got Close to the top. Once I was on the dirt road I took the starts and climbed up but could only stay for a photo as it was crazy windy up there. I stopped in at the shelter and man does that thing need to just be rebuilt… it has been so sad for so long. Coming down I ran into 4 backpackers and 1 day hiker. I went a straight shot from the east going to little killy in mostly open woods. It gets a little tight on top, but made it through and pink tape flagged the top with a view. Headed down for more open woods and had a meh line. Once on trail I cruised out and instead of staying on trail, I stayed on the ATV/road back to the LT/AT to my car. Only the way down did bugs start to Bother me. |
