 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
In South Cabot, off old rte 2, then Lovely Rd, I parked in Molly’s Falls Pond State Park on the side and rode my bike 2.5 miles up the road until I saw this unnamed trail, which looks like a road on Gaia, part of Peacham Pond Rd. There is a sign for hiking/ biking/ horseback. |

A small bridge over the first stream with good water to filter. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I couldn’t find a jar on Macks, just a lone flagged tree where CalTopo says the top is. I found the jar on Hooker, placed in 2022. |

This was a much longer hike than I thought, over 7 miles and 1700 ft. I took the trail that shows on Gaia as Peacham Pond Rd in gray. It seems to stay in the Groton State Forest land, maybe heading to Morse Mountain. I turned left before Morse, and took a private trail, the signs only said no atvs. I eventually started bushwhacking uphill, but never for very long until I’d cross another skidder path. I wandered all over Macks (2400’) very flat summit, no jar located. I bushwhacked over to Hooker, crossed a driveway and then an atv trail in the col. I found some views over the pond from cliffs on Hooker after signing in the jar. I went back to the col, took the grassy trail downhill, but it turned to the left so I bushwhacked the rest of the way through some scrappy wetter woods and never found the other roads shown on Gaia, but eventually came back to where I started. The ponds were not very swimmable but I found a stream to cool off in. |
