 | Comments: |
From the Riford Brook Rd trailhead in Braintree west of downtown Randolph, hiked the most direct trail route past the Bell Gates cabin up to the summit of Braintree Mountain where there is a good view and nice old growth yellow birch forest. From there continued along the sporadic ridgeline trail south to the wooded summit of Skidoo Mountain, then descended along the trail system via the shortest route back to the trailhead. Note that the map at the trailhead, by the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective, is different than the New England Forestry Foundation's online map of Braintree Mountain Forest.
