Comments
Comments: Another stellar Vermont hike with cool, breezy sunshine in abundance. Lincoln Gap is a pretty cool spot to start from. Trail is very mellow until 3600’ where there are many ledge scrambles that are pretty fun/easy. One elderly woman had smashed her face into one, however, so I gave her some gauze pads to assist with the bleeding. First time in ten years I have used something out of my med kit. They are also well into building a new Battel shelter next to the existing shelter. Looks great! We had summit to ourselves for fifteen minutes-views are amazing! So tempting to go to Ellen-it looks so close but would have added 6.4 miles and wasn’t part of the plan for today. Many people abruptly showed up on the summit and we had an easy, uneventful hike down.
