Up to Taylor Lodge (1,850')in Nebraska Notch from the Trout Club (private, stay on marked trail), nice low elevation hike. Bareboots, trail is mostly dry with a few wet spots. Light dusting from the beaver ponds up. Wandered out the first bit of Clara Bow, down to the waters edge and watched the last icicles crash down from Mt. Dewey's cliffs, wouldn't want to be walking by there, fragments flew a long way. Likewise, I'd stay out of the inner notch 'til the rest comes down. As nice a non-summit hike as you'll find, while the higher trails are off-limits. |
