 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot is open and snow free. The gravel part of Turnpike Road is starting to show mud-season conditions--potholes, dips, and ruts in a few places, will probably only get worse over the next couple weeks. Drive slow, a few of those frost dips are perversely deep and will send your head through the roof. |

 | Comments: |
Quick morning jaunt up Gile under light snow. Trail are melting out fast--was up here two days ago and it was a lot icier. Still some hardpack snow and a little ice on dirt surfaces but most of the stone steps have melted out. Wore stud traction because the dusting of fresh snow this morning made it difficult to tell where the ice was, but probably not necessary. Won't be long before it is completely snow free, unless we get a spring blizzard. |
